Thinsulate consists of many microfibers, 10 times thinner than human hair, making it possible to create light but thin insulation with good thermal insulation. How to wash clothes on Thinsulate – valuable tips
Clothes sewn on the thin column can be washed by hand, automatic machine, and use the services of a professional dry cleaner.
Hand washing
Choose a container according to the dimensions of the garment so that it lies freely in the correct position. For adults, a bath is suitable, for children – a large sink. Fill the container with hot or slightly cold water up to 40 ° C, dissolve the liquid detergent and soak the item so that it is completely covered with water. Otherwise, the inner layer will not be wet. If the clothes have stains, wash them first by rubbing them with a brush. Usually, these are collars, handcuffs, pockets, and bottoms.
Once the stains are rinsed off, run the item under water and wash gently. Remove the product from the liquid and let the dirty water run out. Then rinse thoroughly, dipping it several times in clean, cold water to wash off the soapy solution, which can leave streaks. Thinsulate must not be twisted, squeezed, or squeezed during and after washing.
Can you machine wash Thinsulate?
If stubborn stains are on the jacket, wash them by hand with gel, then put the clothes in the washing machine. Set the delicate cycle or hand wash with a water temperature of 30–40 ° C. Pour only liquid detergent into the powder compartment. Set the rotor at a minimum speed, no more than 500 rpm. You can use air conditioning; it will soften the insulation and extend its life. Turn on the additional rinse method so the gel is thoroughly rinsed off and no soap stains are left on the parts. Press the start button, and the automatic wash will start.
Dry cleaning
Thinsulate withstands treatment with aggressive chemicals used in laundry detergents. Contaminated areas will be unevenly removed from the parts on professional equipment with unique methods.
Drying
After hand or machine wash, hang the garment in the tub or over a sink to drain excess water. When the water stops dripping from the clothes, lay them horizontally on a towel, separate dryer, or ironing board for final drying. For better ventilation, you can open the windows slightly. Thinsulate dries quickly, about 3-4 hours, but sometimes it can take 8-10 hours. It depends on the material from which the item is sewn.
Do not dry Thinsulate on ovens, heaters, and near heaters where the temperature exceeds 40 ° C. I remind you that the insulation cannot withstand high temperatures. It is undesirable to hang the product on the balcony with clothespins. Only room temperature will preserve all the material’s properties and the object’s original appearance.
Iron
If you don’t need to iron, it’s best to avoid it. It is better to lay the clothes as evenly as possible immediately after washing, so you do not have to iron them. If there are creases after drying, the product is sprinkled over the water from the spray bottle, rinsed, and dried again. And if you still need to use an iron, heat it no higher than 40 ° C and lead it carefully, without pressing it to the surface.
